POISON PEN
Di Paul Ambrose goes undercover to an artistic 'house party' at the fading Chalk Heath Hall. The hosts are a local novelist and his painter wife. One of the guests died recentiy in mysterious circumstances.
An amateur writer, DI Ambrose relishes the week away from his normal police duties. He finds his fellow house guests strangely fascinating.
But he soon finds himself investigating not just one but two poisonings. How do you poison someone when everyone is eating the same food? To make it worse, Ambrose actually cooked the meal when the guest speaker died. Who is the poisoner? And will DI Ambrose work it out before another guest dies?
